What are we most looking forward to at the 2022 ASFA Conference? …talking to people in person!
What else are we looking forward to? There is a good selection of speakers and panellists on the conference program, and given our mission to help Australians lead a comfortable retirement, here are the top three sessions we are particularly looking forward to:
Parallel Session 2C at 2:15 pm on Wednesday, 27 April.
Jeremy Cooper from Challenger is hosting a panel looking at whether the Retirement Income Covenant will provide a new impetus for long-desired innovation in this space. We certainly hope it will.
Keynote session at 9:15 am on Thursday, 28 April
We always hear how well the Australian retirement income system stacks up globally and this is an excellent opportunity to hear from three well regarded international pension and investment experts who will critique the Australian pension system, the good and the bad:
- Keith Ambachtsheer, Director Emeritus, International Centre for Pension Management, Executive-in-Residence, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto
- Ashby Monk, Executive and Research Director, Stanford Global Projects Center
- Fiona Stewart, Lead Financial Sector Specialist, World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice
Parallel Session 4A at 12:20 on Thursday, 28 April
As the population ages and retirement balances grow, guiding members through the retirement process will be one of the biggest challenges facing superannuation trustees in the future. This panel of industry experts will explore a range of issues around the provision of financial advice.
Check out the complete conference program here and be sure tocome and say hi at the Optimum Pensions Booth in the Exhibition Hall. We will have our Lifespan Calculator set up for you to test, and really look forward to seeing you all.
